Another lovely Tennessean has hit the wall!
One of the iconic offerings from Gretschs catalog, the Tennessean saw debut in 1958 and hit the peak of its success in the mid-'60s (no doubt a result of a little Beatlemania). This particular models serial range indicates a production year of 1964. These models notably feature a pair of Hi-Lo 'Tron pickups, notable for their unique tonal quality. Featuring a maple hollow body construction and simulated f-holes, the Tennessean also features a variety of switching including standby, pickup selection, and tone. Despite sitting on the bottom end of the Chet Atkins line of guitars, these are truly unique instruments with a character all their own! This example has had the pots and capacitors replaced, but retains the originals in the case.
Cosmetic condition is okay for its age with some wear present throughout. There has been some binding split and rot, but everything is holding stable currently. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes the original hardcase.
