An iconic 12-string electric from Fender!

The Fender Electric XII, originally released in 1965, has found its way onto countless iconic recordings despite being a more obscure release from Fender. Notably the likes of Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend, Tim Buckley, and a further enviable list made great records with these.

Featuring the offset shape, the Electric XII most interestingly featured a 'hockey stick' headstock as well as a 4-way pickup rotary selector. The split pickups are super interesting, and really deliver a sound all of their own. This particular example features a body date of April 1966, and a neck stamp date of August 1966. In contrast to many '66 models, this example features block inlays and a bound neck, which makes it quite a unique find! The original tone pot appears to date to 1965, with the volume pot having been replaced. The original back plate serial also places this example within the range of 1966 instruments.

Alongside the replaced volume pot, this example appears to have had a refret done as well as remnant holes from when different tuners were installed. Period correct examples are currently fitted. Original finish with plenty of mojo, dings, and wear. As with all old Fenders, this example has the most gorgeous original tortoiseshell pickguard. Remainder hardware, electronics, and pickups are original.

Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low action. Includes the original hardcase.
