Initially established in 1974, Music Man started making electric guitars in 1976 after Leo Fenders non-complete cause expired with this example being an early model from the early days of the brand!
Although more well-known for its bass counterpart, the Stingray electric came out around the same time and featured a similar body silhouette. This particular example is the 'II' model which is noted for having a more curved radius (7.25") in contrast to the Stingray I. This particular model dates to 1977 based off its serial range and its original pots. Featuring an ash body and bolt-on hard maple neck, these models feature quite a pleasing slim 'C' shape neck and as a result of that beautiful slab of ash, has sustain for days. Outside of what appears to be non-original strap pins, this example is all there. On top of that is a wide array of switching and tonal options such ass bass and treble controls, out of phase control, and low impedance pickups.
Cosmetic condition is okay for its age with some noticeable dings and drop filling apparent on the top of the body as well as at the top horn strap pin. There's checking, scratches and other various dings throughout. Frets are bit flat and low, however playability doesn't appear to be compromised. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes the original hardcase.
