Probably the best value for money in the Gibson catalogue, the Tribute range of guitars feature a stripped back finish and specifications, whilst refusing to compromise on the most essential elements. Finished in a simple a sleek satin nitro finish, the SG Tribute also foregoes binding as well as pickup covers for a much more ‘raw’ presentation. However, this example also comes fitted with a great sounding pair of Gibson’s iconic 490R and 490T pickups, alongside the other typical hardware appointments such as a Tune-O-Matic bridge and Kluson tuners.
Nice and lightweight, this instrument plugged in has plenty of bark and bite you would come to expect from an SG. Neck profile is a slightly fuller ‘C’ shape, which fills out the hand nicely. Cosmetic condition is just about flawless, having been a fairly recently produced instrument.
Hardware is fully functional, and plays excellently having been recently set up here, in-house!
