1970s Diastone by Takamine TG-003 Cedar

A lovely classical with some vintage mojo!

Manufactured in Japan, the Diastone brand was purchased by Takamine and produced a range of various stringed instruments for the brand. Beyond those details, there is not a whole lot else about the Diastone brand. This example looks to have been produced sometime during the 1970s, and is a TG-003 model. This example appears to feature a solid cedar top with rosewood back and sides. The neck has a nut width of 52mm, fitting within traditional classical specification. We're quite impressed with the presence and articulation from this example, delivering a more open voice than many similar Japanese-made examples! 

Cosmetic condition is good for its age, showing minor scratches and dings throughout. There is some discolouration to the tuning pegs. There are two drill holes where strap pins have been previously mounted. Hardware is fully functional, and plays at a medium classical action. Includes a hardcase.
