A short scale wonder from late '70s Fender!
We love the approachability and great tone of shorter scale basses, with this example offering great tonal upgrades and excellent playability. This particular example, despite the serial typically indicating 1978, is in fact from 1979 thanks to the original pots dating to early that year. This model features an alder body with bolt-on maple neck and rosewood veneer fretboard. A 30" scale length is present, in addition This example has been refinished in a satin white, and may have had the body sanded back in places. The original pickguard has been replaced with an aftermarket example from WD Music and now features a Curtis Novak MM Bass Wide Top pickup (honestly an upgrade over the stock pickups on these models). Appears to be the original potentiometers that reveal the first week of 1979. Original tuners, control knobs, and thumb rest are present.
Cosmetic condition is good, showing light signs of wear and refinishing. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low-medium action. Currently strung with flatwound strings. Includes a black rectangular hard case.
