A ripping example with more than enough in the way of pickups!
We appreciate those that approach modding a guitar with real gusto, especially when the end result is as cool as this. This example is an E-serial dating from around 1984 to 1987, and started out life as an ST-557 'Contemporary Series' model, fitted with a Fender-branded System 1 tremolo system. Composed of an alder body with bolt-on maple neck, these examples featured a slim 'C' neck profile in tandem with a 12" fretboard radius. Where things get interesting is when looking at the electronics under the WD Music branded pickguard. There are two humbuckers present consisting of an EMG89 and EMG85 with two EMG single coils (missing sticker to specify model). Super interesting switching on this example. Master volume has a push pull to coil-split the bridge humbucker. The first tone control acts as a master tone for all settings. In the secondary tone, there is a rotary switch, which appears to slightly boost and brighten the sound of each pickup it engages.
Cosmetic condition is very good, showing the most visible wear to the pickguard. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action. Includes a rectangular hardcase.
