One of the Ovations top of the line offerings from back in the day!
For us when we think of Ovation, we think of legendary guitarists such as Glen Campbell and Robert Fripp who utilised these unique instruments. This particular example, dating to 1981 (based off serial range), is a Custom Legend. Serving as one of their top line models, the Custom Legend features a Sitka Spruce top with an 'A' shape bracing pattern alongside the classic deep bowl back of the instrument. Ivory grained binding with abalone purfling is present throughout, and comes together for a beautiful presentation. These came with a stereo FET preamp, which is original and present in this example. If you play the opening riff from 'Southern Nights' on this guitar, I've heard you can summon the ghost of Glen Campbell.
Cosmetic condition is excellent throughout with little in the way of dings or scratches. There is a crack running through the main volume/tone control, however it appears stable and functional. Hardware and electronics and fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes the original hardcase.
