A gorgeous first year example from the legend of jazz guitar, Joe Pass!
Released in 1982, the JP20 features a 16" body with a 25 1/2" scale length. Featuring an arched spruce top and maple back and sides, these sound lovely unplugged. Ornamental in design, the JP20 featured an ebony fretboard with gorgeous abalone split-block inlays. Discontinued in 1990, these didn't hang around for long and as a result are a little trickier to find then the later Epiphone Joe Pass signature model.
Cosmetic condition is reasonable with some swirl marks, scuffs, and dings throughout as expected for its age. The most notable wear comes from the lower cutaway and lower bout. The single original 'Super 58' humbucker appears to have an added extra hole drilled for the pickup ring. The tuners currently fitted are aftermarket replacements from Gotoh.
Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium-low action. Currently strung up with phosphor bronze strings. Includes the original hardshell case.
