A stunning example from Fender Japan!
Rare to find and always very cool, order made Fender Japan models often featured non-catalog features and have become increasingly desirable within the collector market. This example, with a neck heel pencil date of 1990, is an order made example with the designation KO-237. Despite being market as an ST-57, this example features a three-tone sunburst as well as a slightly flatter neck profile and high gloss finish, specifically aiming to replicate a '58 example. ST-Vintage pickups are present, with this example delivering excellent clarity and bell-like response. Composed of a basswood body with bolt-on maple neck, this example also features period-correct features such as a 7.25" fretboard radius as well as a single ply pickguard and vintage tuners. An excellent example with plenty of character!
Cosmetic condition is good, with light scratching present throughout. There are two noticeable dings located on the back of the neck. Looking at the neck pocket, there is a finish split which isn't uncommon to see on these and appears stable. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low-medium action. Includes a brown leather gig bag.
