1950s Migma Archtop Natural

A stunning East German example!

Made by lutheir Erich Dölling for Migma, this example dates to the 1950s and is a stunning example from East Germany. Composed of a spruce top with maple back and sides, this example is fully carved and delivers a punchy and direct sound. A seven piece maple and mahogany neck is present in tandem with what appears to be a rosewood fretboard. As typical for models such as these, this example does not possess a truss rod. Everything looks correct, albeit the tailpiece, which appears West German in origin. A great example with tonnes of character!

Cosmetic condition is good for its age, with this example having previously been stripped and refinished natural. There is a crack on the treble side of body near the neck which has been stabilised. On the back of the body near the bottom strap pin, there is some separation between the back of the body and the binding as a result of shrinkage. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action and some plinky frets around the 12th fret. No case included.
