A gorgeous archtop from Japan!
It's not everyday we get to encounter a stunning, luthier made instrument like this. Built by Eiichi Sumi, a famed luthier from Japan renowned abroad and lesser known here, this example takes the familiar silhouette of the ES-175 with its own twist. Composed of what appears to be a spruce top in combination with a mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. Fully hollow, and with a floating ebony bridge, this example is exceptionally refined in both its plugged and unplugged tone. What's that switch, you may ask? It's a series/parallel! As there isn't any reference to be found to this model, we're unable to determine whether its original or a later modification. Strung with a set of flats, this example is a great player ready for a serious jazzer!
Cosmetic condition is good showing some noticeable signs of wear to the periphery of the instrument, as well as general scratches, dings, and play wear present throughout. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. No case or gig bag included.
